Does Mybusiness Run While Connected To The Internet?

You do not need to connect to the Internet when using the MyBusiness package. My Business is a Browser based product, which uses Internet Explorer as a front end. This means that if you choose, you can access the internet from within the MyBusiness software (e.g. to e-mail a contact).

Any alerts to connect to the internet is simply MyBusiness connecting to the server MyBiz creates on your PC and not to the internet. To prevent this from happening Go to Internet Explorer and choose Tools, Connections and Select. Click on the 'Dial whenever a connection is not present' option and press ok.

How Can I Print Out What Is On The Screen?

If the screen you are viewing is a report and has a Preview button press this to view.

Print from the file menu on the browser bar or you can also choose to export to excel or word and print in the usual way.

You can also highlight and select all information then using the file option to print selection.

Please go to Preferences-Admin-Company Profile. You can then change the company details from here

How Do I Fill In A Customer's Details I Had Previously Entered Whilst Raising An Invoice?

If you want to add further details you need to select the contact from the contacts menu. Enter the remaining information using the 'Add New' buttons and then press Save.

How Do I Insert An Image Onto My Invoice?

You will need an image in a GIF format then simply navigate to the following:

C:\Program Files\MyBusiness\webapps\ROOT\images\MyImages

Insert your image into this folder then access your MyBusiness software, upon editing an invoice template simply select the cell you wish to insert the image into and select Cell Properties, select the option of image then click Done. When you have done this click the cell again and edit the contents, you will notice you are now able to choose images from the MyImages folder where you earlier inserted your image simply select your image and it will be inserted into the cell.

How Do I Pay My Credit Card Bill?

Set-up the credit card company as a supplier in the Contacts area.

Use the pay cash out facility on the books home page selecting the credit card company as the contact. Pay the amount of the bill.

How Do I Withdraw Money For Petty Cash Etc Using Mybusiness?

The petty cash account should be treated like your other bank accounts, and set up accordingly. This is a virtual account.

Use the paying money out option on the books home page. Pay money out of the main account to cash. Then use the money in section of the books home page to pay money into the petty cash account. Pay money out from the petty cash account by using the money out section on the books home page. Choose the petty cash account.

How Much Is Mybusiness? And Is It Annual Or Monthly?

The prices of MyBusiness are as follows and are charged annually.

MyBusiness EasyBooks = £49.99

MyBusiness Essentials = £99.99

MyBusiness Complete Manager = £149.99

 

You will be notified 2 weeks before your license is due to expire, the software will then notify you everyday a week before the license expires. There is no obligation to renew your license and our technicians will be happy to export your data however if you wish to export your data from the software after the license has expired charges may apply.

How Should I Put My Sales Into My Business Since I Am A Retailer?

This depends upon how many items you sell in each day and whether you record sales of different items with different VAT Codes.

You can put the day’s takings in as a single item. This is fine if there is no VAT, or all items have the same VAT rate. You may be on a flat rate or VAT Retail Scheme.

If you have various items you can set up categories for each e.g. cigarettes, sweets or magazines. Then pay in takings under these categories. (See Q2 to set up categories).

Put each sale in separately if you only have a few “large item” sales each day.

I Get An Error When Downloading The Software From The Downloads Page
To overcome this problem, you must click save as. Then select to save in the Hard disk of the computer, and then run the setup from there when the download is finished

I Get The Url Of Mybusiness At The Top And Bottom Of My Printed Invoices?

This is caused by the settings that are put in place by Internet Explorer. To remove the URL from the top and bottom of your printed invoices simply print preview the invoice then select Settings and then to change the Header and Footer options to -Empty-

I Have A Mac Can I Use My Business?

MyBusiness is a browser-based application. You will need to run the program in internet explorer. The installation file is located on the root of the CD – named setup.sit. This is a compressed image of the actual product installer.

I Have Lost My Username And Password, How Do I Retrieve Them?

To retrieve your username and password, you must send in your script file to support and they will retrieve them for you

I Have Renewed My License But Have Not Received My New License Key?

When renewing your license you will receive an email from PayPal to confirm the payment and you will then receive an email from MyBusiness within an hour of renewing with your new license key.

If you do not receive this email from MyBusiness then please contact our support team and they will request for the email that you received from PayPal to be forwarded via email along with the license key which you entered into the Validate box and upon confirming the payment they will provide you with a renewed license.

I Used To Be A Business Gateway User Do I Still Receive The Mybusiness Software For Free?

 

Unfortunately we can no longer provide Business Gateway or NatWest users the MyBusiness software free of charge as the funding that we used to receive to cover our costs has been stopped due to the financial climate. MyBusiness understands that this is very disappointing and this is why we are offering one month extra free of charge for those who used to be Business Gateway users*.

What About The Christmas & New Year Period? Will I Get Support?

Support is covered throughout the year Monday to Friday 9am till 5pm UK Time (UTC) via email and telephone, excluding bank holidays. Before the Christmas and New Year period you will be notified via email and on our website to our times and dates for support.

What Happens If I Change From Standard To Cash Accounting For Vat During The Year Or Vice Versa?

Decide on the date you will be making the changeover. On that date save your cashbook and VAT summary report to a memorable folder/area in your computer.

Go to the Books home page and select Preferences and select the relevant type of VAT accounting. Ensure you talk this through with your accountant.

What If I Want To Record Different Types Of Income, Rather Than Just

We recommend that you set-up sub-categories for all your relevant Income and Expense lines.

For example, if you are a retailer you may wish to record sales of different products e.g. books, videos etc.

You can do this within the Books area by selecting Income and Expense categories. Select 'add' against the relevant category.

Remember to select the right category each time a transaction takes place.

When Printing My Invoices, I Have A Header And Footer On The Page Which I Do Not Want. How Do I Remove Them?
Please click file on the top of your browser, and then go to page setup. Then in the header and footer section, please make sure that this is selected as empty. This will then remove the header and footer from the invoices

When Setting Up Mybusiness I Didnt Have My Vat Number. Where Do I Put This Now I Have It
You will need to go into the books categorie, then select preferences at the top right hand corner of the screen, and then enter it into the settings there, making sure after you have done this to go back and adjust the VAT on transactions you made before entering the VAT number

When Trying To Network Mybusiness It Wont Recognise The Username And Password On The Client Pc
This is due to the script file not creating the username correctly, You will need to fill in and attach your script file to a support query, then send it to support

Where Do I Find My Accounts Preparation?

In some cases when an accounts preparation has been created using MyBusiness it can be found in the following place:
